School Introduction

Zhengzhou Institute of technology, the former Zhengzhou Grain College founded in 1959, is an engineering institute of higher learning with the combination of liberal arts, pure sciences, economics and management. The institute, situated in the southern section of Songshan Road, with the Golden Water River cuts across the campus, is endowed with scenic beauty, with pleasant shade everywhere.
The institute possesses a staff of 1200, with over 700 professional teachers including more than 300 full or associate professors. Presently the institute sets 17 departments and faculties. There are 35 undergraduate specialties and 8 postgraduate specialties are available for 12,000 undergraduates and 200 postgraduates in the institute.
There are 800,000 books of all kinds and more than 2,000 periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages in the institute. A large number of modern laboratories, equipped with complex of advanced facilities, occupies a total floor space of more than 26,000 square meters. And more than 30 research institutions of all kinds are set up in the institution.
The institute devotes much attention to promoting academic exchanges with foreign countries. It has established amicable relationship with more than twenty foreign universities including University of Wales, UK, Reading University, UK, Kansas State University, USA, University of Manitoba, Canada, and University of Southern Queensland, Australia. and educational research organizations including French Cereal Export Association and U.S. Wheat Associates.
The institute has built up to a gymnasium, football fields, basketball fields, a fitness center, a swimming pool and a club, which further make staff and students' life colorful.
